“I enjoyed the process of discovering our team’s potential for growth through the various team building exercises you walked us through. Your ability to ask the right questions at the right time challenged us to think strategically about our strengths and weaknesses. It allowed us to begin putting the pieces of our future team in place. You also showed an ability to remove yourself from the conversation when needed, allowing our team to move through the process. The net results from our time together have been positive. We have grown in a greater appreciation for each others talents and gifts. This has allowed us to take a more aggressive approach in regards to our future plans. We also walked away from the event with a specific initiative for the next eighteen months.”
“The need to keep our eye on the goal of being a productive team; and realizing that different personality types can get in the way of that goal if we don’t confront and work our way through the important issues and differences. Further, the team sessions place a burden on each of us to modify our behavior, if it starts to get in the way of productively meeting our goals in support of the organization.”
“I believe the team session led by you was long overdue. The regularly-scheduled Board meetings are tightly agenda-ed like kabuki dances and do not allow time to discuss other matters at length. Yearly sessions like the team-building exercise should work wonders. One of the keys to our success is long-term strength in our leadership. This topic was worth spending time on. Another key is the membership and structure of the Board. Also was worth spending time on. I believe the recent four-hour meeting was well-umpired, got to a point where the conversation was reasonably open, and began the process of building a team. In that sense, it was very pleasing to me. My biggest take-away was that the session was a very worthwhile first step.”
